Suzette Harvey – Artistic Director

United Dance Productions was founded by its Artistic Director Suzette Harvey who has been and continues to be a driving force in the education and promotion of the Arts in Bermuda, particularly in the discipline of dance.

Educated at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Ms. Harvey received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree majoring in Dance Education in 1990.

She was the recipient of the Stella Moore Prize for Outstanding Achievement and Most Outstanding Student Teacher Award during her convocational exercises.

Upon her return to Bermuda, Ms. Harvey formed the United Dance Productions School of Dance, which currently trains over 300 students ranging in age from 3 years to adult in the disciplines of ballet, jazz, rhythmic tap, modern dance, hip-hop and musical theater.

Ms. Harvey’s ultimate goal is to broaden the exposure of her dancers and to have Bermudian dancers represented on the international stage. The formation of the Bermuda Dance Company in January 2000 represents the realization of her vision to a professional touring dance company.

Ms. Harvey has received much recognition for her efforts and accomplishments in the arts. She has been a guest teacher at the Duke Ellington School of Arts, Howard University and the University of the Arts Summer World Dance Program.

In December 2001, Suzette Harvey was awarded the Queen’s Certificate of Honour in recognition of her valuable services in exposing Bermudian dancers to professional dance through her founding of United Dance Productions and the Bermuda Dance Company.  She continues to teach at both Government and Private schools across the island.
